Pre-med, What Is The Best Pre-med Course?
Best Pre-med // University Course?
Now, i asked a similar question a few months ago but…well here i am again…
I want to do a health science course which will be pre-med (so i can continue on to be a doctor) however if i wish not to be a doctor i need to be able to be employed with the degree that i chose…so it needs to be a good fallback degree too… and an absolute must: It must be something which i can go international with (i’ll be working in another country)… so heres the choices…
1. Nursing (On the job training..practical…in demand in all western countries…I’m male, so a male nurse is kinda =/ )
2.Medical Technology (Great in depth lectures and topics to ready me for med proper, employment opportunities not great but could perhaps work as a pathologist?)
3. Pharmacy (Good for premed, learn all about drugs & how they effect the body… Employment opportunities abroad are great … but to be recogonized and registered abroad is very very difficult…so theres risks..)
4. Physical Therapy ( Great for premed, you learn anatomy, anatomy and more anatomy! But i do not know if theres any demand for this abroad and i believe higher education would be needed.. i am unsure if a physical therapist and a physio are the same thing either.)
Please! Someone help! I’ve been thinking this over for months and i really cannot get past these 3 as they all have pro’s and con’s

stions. I know i hate it when im in pain and when people are in pain and if i can do something to help I wanted do do that so today it just hit me. Why no physical therapy? I jus wanted to know all about it?Doctorate or Masters-What wpuld be the difference? How long do you have to go to school? What are the best places to go to school for this? Anyone actually a therapist reading this? How long would i have to work on average? Everything you know. The problem is that ive never seen myself as being in the medical profession, because i dont like blood and thats all my parents and family want everyone to do. I wnat to do something different and i dont want to go my life stressed out when i can help in a different way.
I Have Prematurly Aged With Physical Imperfections – What Can I Do ?
im 30 had a hard life, have bpd , ptsd, missed out on everything in life ; education, having a job , forming friendships etc.
im waiting to get help for my aggraphobia , to help attend a resource centre where they do activities.
they dont have the therapy i want in my area individual therapy, so i have to take the fckd things their offering.
im out of shape, physically very weak, ive been inactive for so long, have a big belly.
live alone on disability in a one bedroom flat , i own nothing except a computer.
have cracked skin on the head of my penis, i was told maybe because of frequent masturbation . over 12 times everyday for as long as i can remember , waiting to see a dermatologist for a 3rd opinion, because i wasnt happy with the seconds opinion that there wasnt any skin disorder.
i have a small penis , not as thick in girth as other guys, a small penis head , not a big broad mushroom like every other guys penis head.
plus its only just about 6 inches when erect.
been getting shooting pains in my pelvis, not sure if its due to the frequent masturbation.
an injured ankle, torn the ankle ligaments in a sprain running accross a meadow last year, its very weak needs operating on.
i injured my left little finger on my left hand years ago, now its crooked , it droops over slightly, it wont straighten…..a splint didnt straighten it.
i punched a concrete wall years ago with all my might, and injured the nerves in my right knuckle , i can use it normally, but i cant hit a punch bag because i get shooting pains in it.
i was told nothing can be done to repair my damaged nerves in my knuckle..
my joints ache and limbs ache against minimal excercise.
i headbutted a stone wall years ago and knocked out my two bottom front row teeth , i need implants which cost thousands..

And what if it went on like that for several pages? Do you think this would make any improvements in mental health care services, like maybe doctors listening to their patients and giving them the medication that they need?
Six years I have tried to get medication for disorders I have been diagnosed with. There are two medications, one or the other, they could prescribe, a pill or medical hemp, but they won’t prescribe either one and so I have no medication and I continue to suffer. I pray and I do other things, but I still have the disorders and I may have more that are not diagnosed yet. Why won’t they help me?
I am not going to go on a shooting rampage but I can imagine some of these people who have maybe had similar issues with their doctors not listening to them and not prescribing proper medication. They have these disorders that could be treated and medicated but no one’s listening to what they are saying about how severe the disorder is when they are not sitting in the doctor’s office thinking and hopeful they are going to be helped, but when they are on their own and when injustices are done against them and everything is going wrong and the stress is going off the charts and so is the brain chemistry in a wrong direction.
I have talked to several other people with a range of mental health and physical medical problems who have told me they have had the same problem with doctors not listening and not giving the right medication or not giving any medication at all and leaving them to suffer in pain. And that this has gone on for years.
And then there are the ones who do the opposite and over medicate their patients.
Six years I have tried and six years the doctors don’t listen or read what is in my medical record to prescribe the right medication. I report to them the truth, I don’t smoke, I don’t drink, I don’t sleep around, I don’t lie, I don’t steal, I am follow of God, and so forth, but I have suffered a lot of trauma in childhood and adulthood and I have these other problems and they diagnose me with these disorders, they know I have them, and then they won’t prescribe the medication I need and unfortunately, the mental health clinics are severly under-funded and over-populated with patients that the therapists over overwhelmed and can’t help any of their clients, and so I don’t get medication or therapy.
I am not the only one this is happening to and my brain chemistry surges are not as bad as what some other people have.
Do you think such an event would have affect on medical or mental health professionals to open their ears and minds and listen to their patients?
Do you think it would help the funding situation with the government agencies and the citizens?
What Are Your Thoughts On This??
I live in MD and recently a bill has been proposed that will have the public school system pay for the physical, occupational and speech therapies of special education students who are currently being homeschooled. I am curious as to what others…both in the special ed and home school community think.
As the mother of an autistic child, and someone who has done a fair amount of parent’s advocate work, I generally discourage most families from homeschooling because in doing so they will loose all the ancillary therapy services they can get from the public schools. Few families are in a financial position to pay for these from private sources and insurance coverage for them is spotty. Also, special education budgets shrink every year, so the addtional cost is a factor.
As a homeschooler (of my other child) I feel that until the schools are willing to let my daughter join the drama club or play school sponsered sports, then no one group should be given special treatment.

I have been having pretty significant joint and wrist pain. I saw my dr last week and she gave me a referal to Physical Therapy. I have an appointment on Tues. I asked if she could prescribe something for the pain and she gave me a referal to the Pain Clinic, meanwhile Im suffering in a lot of pain. Tylenol 3 helps most of my other joint pain but not my wrists. And nothing helps the wrist pain aside from bengay type of ointments and they only work for maybe half an hour. There has to be SOMETHING? Anyone?

What is good career for me to go into? I’m deciding between becoming a physical therapist, occupational therapist, and physician’s assistant. Does anyone know if getting a masters in physical therapy would be sufficient or is a doctorate going to be required soon? Is going into the health field a bad idea with the potential universal health care?
