What Does It Take To Be A P.E. Teacher?
I was thinking about studying physical education in college and becoming a P.E teacher. Would this be a wise choice for a career or should I study to be a Physical Therapy Assistant instead? Or maybe even exercise science, but idk what careers are obtainable with this degree other than being a personal trainer. Any help would be awesome!
Should I Take The Volunteering Position At An Autism Summer Camp?
I had an interview at a volunteering centre and I was offered a position at an autism summer camp, I have no prior experience working with children but I am a unversity student planning to continue my education in the field of healthcare, should I take this position? Will it be helpful for me in applying to professional healthcare programs like physical therapy?

Looking For Something To Take My Mind Off Work?
Posted by admin in Careers in PT on January 20, 2010
I work in Physical Therapy, so I am always with patients, or at my desk charting, or on the phone w/ patients or doctors, or office management.
When we are booked, I worry I won’t have enough time in the day to finish…this days work.
When patients cancel, there can be up to twenty minutes of downtime.
It’s nice to have a break, especially when none are scheduled. (This is how the clinic is set up to run, and I deal with it, because it gives me three days off.)
Not really enough time or desire to read a novel, or get involved w/ it. Out of work tasks tend to involve more time that allowed, or I just don’t want to due it at work.
I am seeking something to take my mind away for a bit, so I can be dedicated to the next patient.
Every moment, minute, I have is to serve others or ensure the quality of care for each patient. And it should be, and will stay that way.
I don’t want or need more work, so don’t be crude. I just want something to
Should I Take A Job In Boston?
Posted by admin in Careers in PT on January 18, 2010
So I got a job offer to work at a physical therapy clinic at a place in Medfield, MA but there is no public transportation to get there. I would basically be moving to Boston for this job(it’s at the Kingsbury Club), so a) is the commute from the city, or surrounding areas of Boston in a honda accord, to Medfield bad, this includes traffic winter weather etc.? b.) what is a good place to stay that is affordable and between the city and Medfield that is on the T and not the commuter rail.
I really wanted to move to Boston for the Bike-Walk friendly atmosphere and really enjoyed walking and being in the city but I’m mostly concerned that if the job offer is in Medfield that I won’t exactly reap those benefits if I’m outside the city a lot, meaning I will be driving at least an hour everyday and than in addition to that I will be living outside of the city. Does anyone have any suggestions of whether this is worth move, or do you live outside the city are are still able to get to Boston without it being a hassle and $$..or should I stay in Atlanta and wait for something more suitable to come along.
Thanks for any suggestions, I have to decide today! UGH!
