Help Please!!! I Need To Summarize This Paragraph And Don’t Know How. ?

I need to summarize this paragraph and don’t know how. Just started school after 17 years of break and don’t remember ever summarizing any article. Never had to do any in bilingual classes. Please help!!
Osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease that leads to the breakdown of the cartilage in joints. In people with osteoarthritis, exercise helps maintain good joint health, manage symptoms and prevent functional decline. But studies have shown that the benefits of a structured exercise program are short-lived. The beneficial effects usually fade soon after participation in the program ends. The occupational therapy program in this study was designed to educate osteoarthritis patients about joint protection, proper body mechanisms, activity pacing, and environmental barriers. The participants of the current study were divided into two groups. The first group participated in a structured exercise program and the occupational therapy program. The second group participated in the same exercise program, but received health education in place of the occupational therapy. Only the group that engaged in occupational therapy increased the intensity of
physical activity at the end of the study.

Ok, So A Little Bit Of Advice For A High School Senior Please?

OK, well i’m 17 and at the point in my life when I have to figure out what I want to do with my life. I’m technically a senior high school, but I’m dual-enrolling full time at the community college (been homeschooled since Kindergarten, dual-enrolled since the 10th grade). I’m working on my 2 year A.A. General Transfer degree. After I get that here, I want to transfer to a 4 year university to get my Bachelors in something. The thing is, i don’t know what to get it in. I like math, so I was thinking accounting, but my dad says “you don’t want a desk job, too boring, doesn’t pay much” (he majored in accounting). i’m taking intro to Psychology now and I’m at the top of my class, it’s interesting and I like it, but dad says “you would have to get your Masters in it and then get a teaching job, not many other choices for that, but it would make a good minor”. he thinks i should go to a tech school (like my older brother and sister who are now in tech schools becoming a fire fighter/EMT – bro and LPN – sis), or go into a profession like Physical Therapy (pays great) or something media related (many job openings). also going into the Air Force is something he’s wanted all 3 of his kids to do.
i mean what do i do? the only thing i really want to be in life is a wife and mother (which is when he mentioned Southeastern University “bridal college”. we personally know over 20 people who have gone there and came home with a wife/husband).
so i’m kinda at a loss here. i want some kind of degree but don’t really know why or how I’ll use it. and i don’t want to go to college just to get married.
other people have told me “you’ve got time to figure it out”, my parents tell me “they aren’t the ones paying for your education you need to figure it out and soon”
HELP!!!!

Can You Read And Correct My Essay, Please? It’s For A College Application?

*Instruction: WRITE A 500 WORD ESSAY OUTLINING YOUR EDUCATIONAL AND CAREER GOALS AND THE REASONS FOR YOUR CHOICE OF THE DEGREE PROGRAMME.
ESSAY:
My life-long career goal is to become a physical therapist, someone capable of restoring, maintaining, and promoting overall fitness and health in accident victims and individuals with disabling conditions. Education is the key to my goal. I will attend the University of ****** and be educated. I will make my mind a sponge, soaking up every fact it encounters. In school and out of school, my ears, eyes and heart will be open to learn new things, and gather new facts. I will knit these facts and experiences into a final product: a tapestry of education. While my educational goal is aimed at studying to become a physical therapist, I would also like to express my passion for science (especially biology) and computers. In order to do so, I plan to, first, obtain a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology, and then enter and succeed in a refined physical therapy programme. I may even want to make use of my bachelor’s degree by working in a laboratory before studying towards obtaining a degree in physical therapy. I believe it would be a worthwhile experience and broaden my horizons so that I will not be limited to just one career. Each degree I earn will not only make me eligible for colleges or jobs, but will declare a set of knowledge gained.
I chose biotechnology because it has made a great impact on medicine, the environment, edibles, clothing and agriculture. A biotechnology programme will allow me to utilize the sciences of biology, chemistry, physics, engineering computers and information technology.
I have always found it interesting how humans have expanded their understanding of the biosphere by journeying into space and exploring the depths of the ocean, and not only have they been able to look at the surrounding universe and the depths below with the advancement of tools and techniques, but they also have been able to live there. Also, I have always found it interesting how beneficial microorganisms – which we cannot see with the naked eye – are, from controlling or curing certain diseases to producing foods and other products. These interests of mine are due to the application of biotechnology.
I chose physical therapy because it is through that programme, I can be in a profession where I will not have to sit at the desk all day, and have the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. I like the fact that physical therapists get to interact with their patients one-on-one, helping them stretch and do a variety of therapy exercises, teaching them how to walk and use their bodies again, coping with a chronic disease such as multiple sclerosis, and reducing pain.
Jobs are available to physical therapists in a variety of health-care settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, home health care and private practices. Physical therapists are in demand as people are getting older and physical disabilities are increasing. Physical therapists earn a good salary. This will make it easy for me to get a job that pays well by the time I complete my studies.

Life/career Change- Need Advice, Please. Should I Venture Into A Small Business Or Go Back To School For Pt?

I am 43 yrs. old. I have a BA in Linguistics and a Masters in Special Education. I have worked in the school system for 10 yrs. in the field of Special Ed. and am completely burnt out…too much paperwork and politics. I need to earn a living, but can not see myself teaching long term. I had thought of doing some type of small business (health products, maybe) but don’t know where to start. Also have considered returning to college to get a degree in physical therapy or the like. But, I do not really want to spend the time and money getting another degree. I am a natural writer …but not sure if that can sustain me in the present. Any suggestions or helpful advice….thanks in advance for your comments!

If You Have Been Diagnosed With Degenerative Disk Disease, Please Tell Me How It Has Impacted Your Life…?

I was diagnosed in my early 20s. It would bother me here and there but nothing too bad until recently. I just had to be careful not to over do it. But about a year ago I began having ALOT of pain. Walking, standing in line at stores, banks, whatever, became intollerable. I went to the Dr and was immediately put on state disability. After alot of meds, physical therapy (which didn’t help) and a visit to a pain clinic I have now been told I have lumbar and thorasic spondylosis, and I will be going for epideral injections. No one is telling me how this is going to impact my life or if I will be able to return to work. I am in constant pain. I would love to hear from others with this condition and to know how it has affected you and your lifestyle. Thanks in advance!
