Working in an animal clinic, I often have to restrain or lift heavy or strong animals. After repeated strain [40+ hours a week working], I started getting a severe pain in my left lower back, just above the buttock. I was unable to work for even five hours without feeling intense, sharp pain and I’d go home limping constantly. I had worker’s comp, but the doctor’s they sent me to were looking for the “quick fix”. They didn’t give me an MRI or anything. They took an x-ray, but all it showed was my scoliosis [Had since middle school, not serious, never had to wear a brace]. There is an area of swelling, like a hard lump, to the left of my spine a few inches above the tailbone. The doctors diagnosed me as having a “pulled or torn ligament in the SI joint”. They prescribed me anti-inflammatories, advil, and physical therapy. I had the electric pulsing things [can't remember what it's called, sorry] and massages and daily exercises prescribed by my phys therapist. [wait for more details]
