Social Work Or Public Health/health Education?

I am choosing between a MSW & a MPH (or MA in Health Education). I know there are some joint MSW/MPH programs, but none are near me. Initially, I was going to pursue an MSW, but I really enjoy the health & medical fields. I worked in physical therapy & LOVED helping & teaching patients. Also, because of my own chronic medical conditions, I know a lot about health & disease in general. Health education/promotion would seem like a natural fit for me; however, I have read that there are not a lot of jobs in this field. My BA is in Psychology, but I have never worked in mental health. If I went for a MSW, would I still be able to work in health promotion/education? I feel that a MSW would afford me greater flexibility & more job opportunities than a MPH. I would also like to counsel & educate patients who have chronic pain (arthritis, back & neck) & chronic diseases. Can I do many of the same things with a MSW, that I can do with a MPH? I am not interested in biostatics & epidemiology, BTW

Why Is Education Important To My Future?

so i am at physical therapy school right now and im doing an essay for a scholarship.
it is: “why is education important to my future”.
i was thinking about writing about how like the education im getting from the books, like learning the muscles and how the body works is improtant because i need to know that and it will be the foundation of my job basically.
and then say something about how it also teaches me how to work with people and understand people and blah jdkal
ha
so do you think those are alright things to put in there? or is that really stupid? haha
any suggestions would be appreciated!
and please dont leave me answers saying to do my own paper.
i am doing my own paper, i just wanted a few opinions.
thanks in advance!

Is There A Way To Find Out Ratings For Special Education Services By School In New Jersey?

We are thinking of moving to either Monmouth or Ocean County NJ. As part of our research of the area, we want to make sure that the schools are able to help our children. Their IEPs provide to them therapies (speech, physical, etc.) and other help (ex. classroom aide) even though they are mainstreamed.
I would like to get your advice if there are any resources out there (websites, etc.) that can assist us in gathering information and evaluating school districts. Also, if you have a child with special needs and live in the two counties I mentioned, please feel free to share your experiences (good or bad). Thanks.

Secondary Education Teacher Teaching Questions?

I will be going to Physical Therapy grad school, but for my undergrad I wanted to recieve a degree in spanish (and get my pre-reqs for PT) so one I would be able to draw more patients into my clinic and two if PT was not for me I could have the option of teaching spanish.
My questions are as follows:
1) After getting my degree in Spanish can I get teaching certification years later after I graduated since I have the BA in Spanish?
2) If I would get my Spanish degree and a teacher Credential would that authorize me to teach? Would it only authorize me to teach in that state that I got the credential?
3) What if I wanted to move to another state, was is the requiremnts usually to teach in another state?
4) Does there seem to be any pay increase for teachers in the near future?

Appropriate Education For A Physical Therapist?

I’m spending a lot of time looking at colleges. I’ve pretty much decided that I’m going to work toward a career in physical therapy, and maybe see about pursuing my dream of teaching later on in life. Physical therapy just seems like a more practical path to take, and the reactions I’ve gotten from teacher when asking about their jobs and expressing interest in the field were in the neighborhood of, “I curl up into a ball under my desk and cry almost every day.”
…tempting, but I think I’ll avoid the crying-hysterically path for a while.
So, I’m wondering what sort of education would really be necessary, required, or helpful in pursuing a physical therapy career.
Any idea, anybody?

Best Military Branch For Continuing Education?

I’m a 23 yr old new grad. Well, I’ll be one this December. I’ve majored in Business Administration from UNC-Greensboro. but realized that this job market sucks. I’m interested in going to Physical Therapy School. But, that would be another year of pre-requisite classes on top of another 2-3 for graduate school. So, I’ve got to find a way to pay for this schooling since I had a soccer scholarship that payed for most of my undergraduate. I’m not really looking for the military to be my career…just a way to help pay for school. I’ve got 16K in Student loans.
So, with all that in mind which branch offers the most in terms of continuing education benefits? Which branch is least likely to be deployed? Should I pursue being an officer or enlisted? Any info. or guidance on the subject would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Can I Major In Education And Fulfill Requirements For Entry Into Occupational Therapy School Or Dental School?

I really would like to get into physical therapy, occupational therapy, or dental school whenever I complete my bachelor’s degree, however I do not want to major in biology or the hard sciences because I would not be able to get many jobs with a bachelor’s degree in those majors. I have been told that I can complete any major and get the requirements. I want to know if this route will take longer or be a little harder because I would have to satisfy grad school requirements and my bachelor’s degree requirements. Anyone out there that have actually did this, anyone know anything about this route. Any feedback would be appreciated.
