I live in Ohio and would like to attend college in Ohio or surrounding states but all suggestions are appreciated. I would like to get my bachelor’s degree in exercise science, biology, athletic training, just about anything that would be beneficial to a career in physical therapy.
What Is Good Career For Me To Go Into? I’m Deciding Between Becoming A Physical Therapist….?
Posted by admin in Careers in PT on February 7, 2010
What is good career for me to go into? I’m deciding between becoming a physical therapist, occupational therapist, and physician’s assistant. Does anyone know if getting a masters in physical therapy would be sufficient or is a doctorate going to be required soon? Is going into the health field a bad idea with the potential universal health care?
Thank you!
I Am 48 And Im Thinking About Becoming A Physical Therapy Assistant Can Anyone Tell Me More About This Career?

I am a PTA and enjoy it. You have to know what you’re getting in to if you want to be accepted into a PTA program. I strongly suggest doing some volunteer/observation in a PT clinic somewhere–maybe even 2 or 3 different ones to get a variety of patients/therpaists to observe. That is very likely an admission requirement anyway. It isn’t the highest paying job in the world by far but it is quite rewarding. You get more direct patient contact than do the Physical Therapists mainly because they have more paperwork and administrative work to do–but they also get paid more.
Is Becoming A Physical Therapy Assistant A Good Career Choice?
Posted by admin in Careers in PT on February 3, 2010
I am trying to find out if going to school to become a PTA is a great career choice? I am looking for a bright and positive future with a career that is rewarding and pleasant. I am looking for something that pays very well with excellent health benefits and friendly people to work around. Can I find this working as a PTA? I am currently in school now to become one, and I just want some inside information if I am doing the right thing. Just how hard is it to get through everything to become a PTA? I have half of my classes completed now at my community college and plan to graduate in spring of 2010. If anyone can give me pointers and helpful advice, I would greatly appreciate it. Take care and god bless.

What Would Be A More Wise Or Economy Conscious Career Decision: Becoming A Physical Therapist Or Teacher?
I have been thinking about this for awhile and am not sure quite what to do. I’m 19 but half way through my sophomore year in college with all my generals done, so I have to take a path and go with it. I’m working as a physical therapy aide now, and do not like the nature of the work in the hospital. I was thinking about physical therapy athletics since I am an college athlete, but I’m not sure about the amount of schooling and science classes. With a teacher I would do secondary education teaching english, which I like alot and am good at. The problem being the demand and pay for teachers is not something that helps any, so the dilemma persists.

Yeah I know doctors make a lot of money, but life style wise, and salary wise.
