Pain Management – How Many Of You Have Been Called In For Pill Counts?

I have been in pain mgmt for over 6 months and have yet to be called in (knock on wood). No, I do not take my meds as prescribed as somedays my pain is much worse. I had to go to the ER last week b/c I could not walk due to the pain in my upper back (severe scoliosis and disc disease). I called the clinic and they OK’d me to go as they have in the past. I had to miss my monthly Physical Therapy appointment with the clinic today b/c my car’s transmission went out, I have only missed one appointment since my treatment began. Will this raise the red flags, I wonder? I am currently on 20 mg Oxycontin per day but sometimes, I take up to 40 mg. They took me off Ultram, which was used for my breakthrough pain and gave me an extra 15 Oxys (I was dianosed with epilepsy and ultram lowers seizure treshold) and that has messed me up as ultram really helped with my pain.
So, how many of you have been called in for random pill counts? Please don’t flame me, thanks :)

Career Question What Do You Think About It?

Getting out of the marine corps in a few months and here’s my plan. I will attend a local community college called Palomar to study Physical Education. After my 2 years I will transfer to UC San Marcos to finish up to get my 4 degree in Physical Education. Now the reason why I am studying Physical Education because I like to coach and I wouldn’t mind being and Athletic Director. I am a High School Freshman coach and it is an awesome job during the fall.
In the mean time I also enjoy and like what a Physical Therapist does. I wouldn’t mind being a Physical Therapist helping rehabilitate injured athletes.
How should I go about doing these 2 careers? Now I know in the end I would have to make the decision but what would you do and how would you do it?
Do I get my 2 year degree in P.E. transfer and study in the Kinesiology field and take the Physical Education Option? Which I will graduate with a B.S. in Kinesiology. I can become a teacher and a coach or skip the teaching thing and coach. Which is what I would want to do so I can become a Physical Therapist.
Now how do I some what go back to school to become a PT? Becoming a PT is 1 of the options in my degree program. (Pre-Physical Therapy) I would have to further my education 2 and 1/2 more years but I will be doing what I like to do.
Or should I become a P.E. teacher to have a job and work towards my new degree to be a PT. Put in a lot of work at a school to become and AD. When the summer flies around and I’m not working being a full time PT would be my summer job??????
Thanks for the help…I see the school counselors in a few days. Just want to see what the world of answers/yahoo/com thinks?????http://www2.csusm.edu/kinesiology/ for more info….

I Am An Art/bio Double Major. Should I Continue With These Degrees Or Switch To Art Education?

I’m going into my junior year in college. Right now, I still am not 100% sure of what I want to do. Right now, I’m pre-physical therapy. I’ve thought about OT, illustration, and graphic design. I’ve always thought working for a zoo or museum creating posters, pamphlets and such would be great! Any insight?
Anyway, I was considering switching to art ed, but I would be in school for at least another semester. My concern is, however, the pay isn’t very good, I haven’t taken a single education class and it’s hard to find a job. I enjoy working with kids. I really like to see their eyes light up when they “get it.” I work with kids all the time at horse camps and I’ve worked at other camps (various sports, art, etc). I can get frustrated with the trouble makers, but I figure that’s normal for any teacher.
What would you do?

Bf Cried Infront Of Me- Moving Out?

hes lived with his grandparents, aunt and dad- his grandpa passed away 6 months ago and they were very close- he told him to loo after his grandma. His dad has what we think is schizophrenia and is not treated – he hears voices which causes him to yell loud at night in turn making my bf not get any sleep. He usually gets an hour or so and then works 11 hours a day at a physical therapy clinic.
His mom convinced him to get an apartment and yesterday we were moving his last things out of his room. He ended up crying because he said he felt like he was deserting his grandma and aunt. He feels like its a bad idea and i don’t know what to tell him because i don’t want him to be around his dad and i know he needs to sleep- its tearing me up seeing him so upset i don’t know what to tell him-what should i do

What Would Be A More Wise Or Economy Conscious Career Decision: Becoming A Physical Therapist Or Teacher?

I have been thinking about this for awhile and am not sure quite what to do. I’m 19 but half way through my sophomore year in college with all my generals done, so I have to take a path and go with it. I’m working as a physical therapy aide now, and do not like the nature of the work in the hospital. I was thinking about physical therapy athletics since I am an college athlete, but I’m not sure about the amount of schooling and science classes. With a teacher I would do secondary education teaching english, which I like alot and am good at. The problem being the demand and pay for teachers is not something that helps any, so the dilemma persists.
